2009 Soil and Water Conservation Society Annual ConferenceSWCS is pleased to announce that Secretary Vilsack has agreed to deliver the H. Wayne Pritchard Lecture for the 64th Annual SWCS International Conference. The lecture will be during the opening plenary session on July 13, 2009. Illinois Landscape Contractors Association Field DaySummer Field Day 2009 brings back its "industry holiday" flavor with a barbeque picnic, bags tournament, scavenger hunt for kids, social activities, educational programs, and all the best of a trade show, including equipment demonstrations and new products and services. Borrowing from Field Days Past, you can count on a fun-filled day to reunite with colleagues and celebrate a prosperous busy season.
130 booths will showcase products and services including plants, equipment, tools and much more. Special areas are designated for equipment demonstrations throughout the day, with half-hour periods featuring heavy equipment, lawn maintenance, spray equipment and miscellaneous items such as chain saws, etc. Free parking will be available.

Visions of a Sustainable Mississippi River ConferenceThis conference will attract diverse participants with interest in our nation's largest river, including stakeholders in the recreational, navigation, and agricultural sectors, researchers, and natural resource professionals.
Through conference presentations, panel discussions, and workshops, attendees will formulate new and useful insights and recommendations on four issues critical to the sustainable management of the Mississippi River and the human communities that depend on it. The conference will culminate with a special Policy Forum where recommendations will be delivered directly to key politicians and decision makers in the Mississippi River Basin.

2009 Nursery Day at the Missouri Botanical GardenPlan to attend the 14th annual Nursery Day, a St. Louis horticulture industry tradition presented by the staff of Missouri Botanical Garden/Kemper Center for Home Horticulture and Plants of Merit with volunteer host assistance from St. Louis Master Gardeners and sponsor support from the Landscape and Nursery Association of Greater St. Louis.
