Populus tremuloides

A tall, fast growing tree, with smooth greenish-white to gray bark that is marked by thick black horizontal scars and prominent black knots. The leaves on mature trees are nearly round with small rounded teeth. The early spring flowers, or catkins, are produced before the leaves.
